Swim, kayak or sail the magnificent lagoon, explore the many nearby ruins, hike or bike jungle trails, or just enjoy our scenic beauty, birds, and wildlife. At the end of the day, fall asleep to the comforting hum of the surrounding jungle.
Guests at Ecotoucan stay in private thatch-roofed cabins made out of native materials found on our land. Less than 1/2 hectare was cleared to build the cabins; over 60 hectares have been preserved and are used for jungle walks to observe local plants and animals. Each of the five cabins has its own private verandah with sitting area, bathroom and shower with hot and cold water, tiled floors, screened windows, and 100% solar powered electricity. The cabins and suites are bright, spacious, comfortable and beautifully decorated in traditional Mexican colors.
Tour the extensive gardens of native species, walk on our jungle trail, or go on a guided mountain bike tour with Active Nature, an educational jungle adventure to a breeding station for an endangered endemic bird species – the Great Curassow.
Active Nature takes you on bird watching tours as well as guided jungle walks during which visitors get a chance to learn about and observe the flora and fauna of this region first hand.
