Unit A3 at Mi Casa Del Mar is most fondly remembered by past guests for its large deck, welcoming décor and incredibly immaculate rooms. The owner of this three bedroom penthouse condo on the third floor is a stylish decorator who has created the kind of family atmosphere and happy environment your family will never want to leave behind. From the minute you walk into the cool entrance of the passageway and spot the endless ocean through the living room, you will feel glad you found the right place to create unforgettable memories. Plus this unit is a GREAT value!
As you throw your bags to one side and venture to the deck, feel free to sit a while on one of the hammocks and take in the sound of the Caribbean crashing on the rocky, coral shore below you. When dinner time approaches, we feel sure that your every requirement will be met by this well equipped kitchen that includes a toaster, a range oven, a microwave, purified drinking water, all the cutlery and crockery you'll need for up to twelve guests and a coffee maker for that sunrise refreshment. The large living room with wall to wall, floor to ceiling views of the Caribbean is kept cool with a mosaic stone tiled floor and ceiling fans.
The air conditioning in each of the three bedrooms is powerful enough to cool the entire condo on those warm tropical days. The living room is equipped with a CD player and Directv for those lazy evenings. The second bedroom has a stunning palapa roof, two double beds, sliders to a jungle terrace, and Caribbean views as well as its own bathroom. The central bedroom offers striking décor and ocean views, with 2 doubles. There are three bathrooms, so nice when everyone is getting ready for the day. And don't worry about constantly cleaning up after everyone in your party - maid service is included for six days a week.
So, take your family on vacation to this stunning three-bedroom condo and forever remember your moments together at the pool, sunning on the deck, or chatting up a storm in the living room. This unit is the perfect meeting point for family gatherings, as the 3rd story terrace is the largest we have ever seen. In the off season, inquire about renting it as a honeymoon suite. Amenities here include: CD, DVD, Satellite for the TV, Movies, Beach Towels, Blender, Coffee Maker, Toaster, Large Toaster Oven, Microwave, Safe, Hairdryer, Alarm Clock. Air Mattress upon request. Sleeps up to 8. Cleaning is 6x week, the caretaker is onsite.
It is in a terrific location to have privacy and convenience. A few steps closer to the ocean brings the weary tourist to the refreshingly cool waters of a two layer seaside infinity pool surrounded by a rare lawn of tropical green grass. Sit under a poolside palapa and listen to the waves wash away all the worries you have left back at home; you have found paradise right here in Akumal.
There are some small sandy areas on the rocky coastline below the pool and even a inlet to the sea on calm tide days. Please note that there are no pets and no smoking or BBQs allowed. The building has wifi, but due to the concrete walls, signal strength can be weak in the units. The lobby has a good signal, sometimes the terraces, and each unit has a hot spot or two.
We think you will agree that the owners of this condo building have done everything they can to make you feel at home in this gorgeous property.
The entrance to the building is grand with a large staircase leading up to a stunning breezeway with a breathtaking view of the green grass, blue pool and turquoise ocean. Here you will find a free standing bar perfect for entertaining, the 2 level pool, and Caribbean Sea beyond. The dark blue tile on the infinity pool blends right into the Caribbean beyond for a stunning appearance. Shallow areas are great for kids. A restroom for the pool is located in the grand entry, making bathroom breaks easy and quick.
This building is one of the most popular buildings Caribbean Fantasy represents due to it's convenient location, beautiful units, friendly staff and unique privacy.

Awesome view in MCDM A3
Very nice unit, top floor of 3 no elevator stairs can be very slippery. No internet service even though there was a router we could never get it to work Otherwise a beautiful setting and a most delightful time with friends in Feb of 2016.

We had a lovely week's stay at this condo. The AC worked great, the kitchen had all the supplies we needed. Stove and fridge were in good working order. The beds were firm as is common in Mexico but did not bother us at all. We enjoyed the huge terrace and ocean view. Noise was not a problem. The staff at Mi Casa del Mar were helpful and friendly. The pool clean and cool. I really have no complaints about this unit and would rent it again. This is our favorite property due to proximity to town and the great staff.
The only slightly negative thing was that one bedroom has a high palapa ceiling. There was some kind of critter up there, not sure what, a lizard probably. I would hear it squeak and move and it kind of freaked me out. Never did see it!

Mi Casa Del Mar unit A3 is spacious and well-appointed. The deck is huge and looks out over a rocky section of the coast, as does the infinity pool which is where you will spend most of your time. Be sure to buy some bananas to feed the iguanas who live in the rocks by the shore. You can see them sunning on the rocks.
The location is just a short walk from the village of Akumal and Turtle Bay where you will find a small grocery, a convenience store, several restaurants and terrific snorkeling. There are also a number of craft and souvenir shops. If you turn left out of the condo complex, it is a 15-20 minute walk in the other direction to Half Moon Bay with another restaurant and more shops.
The condo staff is very helpful, although their English is a little limited. The rooms are very clean and maid service is provided. One thing to note is that only the bedrooms are air conditioned, not the common rooms. It wasn't an issue for our group, but it might be for some. Also be aware that the bath area off the master bedroom is completely open to the room (no doors at all).
Akumal is a very quiet area, great for families or groups who are looking for a lovely quiet corner of the Yucatan.

Spring break of 2013 was even better than last years! We again stayed at Mi Casa, for a longer 10 night stay. A perfect choice, we truly relaxed all the days, and did the same stuff, reading, lolling around, ambling down to nearby public beach, at Lol Ha,. Ate in a lot, so relaxing to have handy leftovers for lunch on the huge decks, ambled down many a time to La Buena Vida Restaurant, feeling the silky sand in our sandals as we gazed at the ocean feet away, had drinks up in the crows nest, with the kids (shhh!), met great folks, including Lisa G from CF and family. Enjoyed the golf carts, bike rentals, cenotes, the great huge Tulum supermarket Chaudrai (like an American WalMart, with everything, only better). Find Marcello at the little tourist desk at the Hotel Akumal Arches, and he'll give excellent advice and is a kind and flexible resource. There are binders there with excursions, rates, and he can help book. Also a casual lending library, so take a book, leave a book! And, of course, the gals at Caribbean Fantasy are ever-helpful in giving clear, honest, specific and very useful suggestions on what, where, when, how, to have a total blast,we look forward to - 2014 return!

Oregon was cold, rainy/icey, we all had headcolds and depression in Mid/lateMarch 2012. Words cannot describe the balm to body and soul was our trip to Akumal! How absolutely refreshing, comfortable, and convenient are Mi Casa Del Mar, and penthouse A3. At the risk of having it booked when we hope there turn, our family experience with Caribbean Fantasy and our vacation was so relaxing. The location to town (7 minutes slow walk) and the small tidal inlet/ beach was priceless. We snorkeled in the inlet and dried off in the warm ocran breeze, watching huge black iguana pairs zip by, caught hermit crabs, saw many fish, chatted with friendly co-vacationers from many countries, and ambled down with towels to the terrific public beach (in front of Lol Ha resteraunt) and swam above huge tortugas! Akumal is safe, clean, English speaking, not too obnoxious-touristy. Lisa and company at Caribbean Fantasy a total 10/10 on advice, follow up and great attitude, we won't do VRBO's in akumal with this great travel team... their recommendation of Easy way rental car was so smart and seamless (we heard sad stories in Akumal about other rental agencies) Our late March 7 day trip was our 2nd time to Akumal in 5 years- we brought 3 girls 8-12, all had a total blast! All the units at Mi Casa seemed incredible, very safe as entrance is manned most of time, we spied around, chatted, could not see a "bad" unit. The help from Epi, his wife housekeeper Gloria, and especially, sweet Jorge, was immense-they really do want to help, and were available 24/7, and with sincere smiles and care. We economized by eating in so we could TIP them as suggested, and do not regret that at all, our stovetop/microwave meals we made for great memories! We are tolerant, kind West Coasters, if your needs are super high maintainence, all inclusive or cruise ship mindset (and we've done both), stay at a handy Cancun or Akumal gated beach place and don't stay at Mi Casa- save it for more independent travelers, ok : ) ?
PS:want an excursion? DO plan for 3-8 hours at "Aktun Chen Park" 2 miles south on 307, then 15 minutes inland (it IS open 7 days, website and road looks old). Relatively Low pressure, sincere, high ratio staff, a less $$$, authentic, NON Disney-ish/outdoor adventure- pick what you wish: huge cave, cenote, and/or zip line- which is very safe, so fun, and we even bought the photos package as the photos are numerous, candid, stunningly professional and worth every peso. Zip-line and Snuggling the resident, docile, affectionate spider monkey ( yes, collared, they'll explain), was our kids favorite memory of the whole trip. Go figure...
