La Bahia #1
La Bahia #2
La Bahia is one of the most popular condominiums that Caribbean Fantasy represents. These beachfront condos offer a unobstructed views of beautiful Half Moon Bay, and the pristine clear aqua marine water below. At La Bahia, the units can be rented as a 2BR or 1BR condo. The master suite, furnished with a king size bed, is separated from the living area with a bi-fold wooden door, which when left open, allows the free flow of the fresh Caribbean air, and a fabulous view of the Bay. Each morning you are awakened by natures alarm clock; the melodious singing of tropical birds out the jungle side window, and the soft lapping waves along the beach. Nothing may be more rewarding than sipping a cup of coffee while watching the sunrise from the spacious decks. Both bedrooms are served by private tiled bathrooms with open showers. The beachfront second bedroom has either twins, a double or a king bed, depending on the unit. The completely furnished full kitchen includes bottled water, pans, dishes, table accessories, a bar with stools and a dining table. Upgrades to the units are unique, as each is privately owned. Daily maid service allows you to be on your way to enjoy all the local beauty both above and below the water, while the unit is cleaned up, beds made, and dishes washed! While relaxing on the built in bodegas in the living room, you will find it difficult to concentrate on anything but the 180 degree view which greets each day. Finally the balcony allows the morning rays in relative privacy, or use the hammock for a siesta. Join friends new and old in the beachfront courtyard for a BBQ, or arrange to have a local come in and prepare a wonderful Mayan meal. La Bahia in located in Akumal, which is in the Yucatan's Rivera Maya, on the Caribbean Coastline. It is just a short hour drive from the Cancun airport, but light years away from the crowds and fast pace of the city. Area bays are world renown for diving and snorkeling, as written up by many publications. The barrier reef along this coast, which protects Half Moon Bay, is rated as one of the seven underwater wonders of the world. From Half Moon Bay, the water is often so clear that sea life, such as turtles, can be seen from the building without even entering the water. Within walking distance of the condos is the famous Yalku Lagoon, which is often equated to swimming in an aquarium. Also, there are many wonderful small restaurants tucked around the Bay for your convenience. The common phrase here is 'No shoes required!' The Akumal area is both rustic and somewhat remote, with thatched roofed restaurants, lounges, dive shops, gift shops, coffee bars, and more. The arts are a focus as well, both local and international. The area offers a doctor, pharmacy, markets, library, ecological center, arts center, outdoor stage, police station, laundry, kids center and more. Come stay in paradise!

La Bahia #5
How can you beat waking up to the sound of soothing waves while in the company of the rising sun? Add a cup of joe in your hand, soft powder sand beneath your feet & warm water brushing each step you take. Coffee will never be the same again!! I just love that La Bahia is right in the middle of the bay. The main house is simply beautiful, very cozy & well kept. The rooms & bathrooms are spacious & immaculate. I had my own TV/DVD, microwave, toaster, mini fridge & coffee maker. Although who needs a TV with paradise outside? I felt like I was kayaking and snorkeling in my own private beach. There is also an amazing restaurant, La Lunita, on the bay. You can drive there in less than five minutes or opt for the scenic route via your feet & sand through their beachfront entrance. Tulum and Akumal are only a few minutes away. I recommend renting a vespa to see the ruins. FUN!! The staff was exceptional. They were very welcoming & accomodating. They made my stay that much more special and my leaving that much harder. No doubt the most relaxing vacation I've ever had. Now that I know all this exists in one place, I will be back every year. Already began assembling a group for 2011. Looking forward to returning.
La Bahia #7
Hola Mona, We absolutely loved Akumal. Our condo, #7 in La Bahia, was terrific. We had a balcony to the East for sunrise, and a balcony to the West for the sunset. What could be better! You did a fantastic job. The staff at Playa Paradise, La Bahia, could not do enough for us, and we experienced a wonderful bonding. Thank you. Thank you. Mark and Ute loved our condo and MX. Everything worked out nicely, no worries! The staff was accommodating and very helpful and friendly. Mona, you did a terrific job for us, mucho gracias to everyone involved again and again.
La Bahia #8
We arrived to La Bahia, (how I love this area) about 1 pm, they had been expecting us for a 10 am check in and had everything in order for us, including beach towels in the room for us. Thank you! We found La Bahia # 8 comfortable and thoroughly enjoyed the beauty of the bay and the Caribbean waters from our deck. Could actually watch two turtles playing in the surf. We loved it here as always. Things you may want to know to is the unit needs a bit of work - new sheet, tiles etc, water pressure is poor(not a surprise), satellite tv not working(but then we didn't want to watch tv). You know Mexico- they have someone coming out to fix it the next day!!! La Bahia building is starting to chip paint- needs a little work on the outside. La Bahia # 8 is a budget accommodation but wow the price is amazing and the view spectacular, the deck is a wonderful place to sit with a drink and watch the waves, turtles, the birds flying over head and just to unwind watching a non crowded beach. The staff are great and one just needs to ask for help with the bags - Hint- take a small collapsible cooler so you can take some frozen ice bottles down to the beach with your drinks, climbing up and down the steps are not for everyone, Arriving in Akumal, yes parking is crowded and they charge you 20 pesos to park right in the town. Yet once you head down to Half Moon Bay it is quiet. We had taken our own mask and snorkel and enjoyed the fish and turtles in Half Moon Bay. One day we had not so many fish to see but loved some of the beautiful purple coral. The next day was better viewing in the water, but the winds high and the water ruff- enjoyed it but not for a first time snorkeler. I highly recommend Pescadora fro its grilled fish and oh the lime soup is a meal in itself and delicious. Lo Ha we enjoyed the dancers on Wednesday night! The Pharmacy over in Akumal pueblo over the bridge across the highway was nice to have. We picked up some food in the little market, in Akumal as we did not plan on cooking much. One day we did stop in the large market across from Puerta Aventuras just to w look and huge selection of fresh fish mealst, cheeses etc. I needed some new aqua shoes for Half Moon Bay- looked several places and found the best price in the food market in Akumal. We had a couple of hours on the beautiful beaches in Puerta Morellis, the town is typical Mexico and needs trash picked up etc. The beach is amazing and a $35 dollar beach massage was exactly what I needed, but we still had all our stuff including golf bags so did not stop for this experience.. Xpu Ha, we had fun finding the right turn and ended up going in through the campground entrance- 30 pesos to park there- loved the beach it is busy, found the least expensive and good Margaretta's there. Tulum Ruins: Paid 30 pesos to park and about a 30 minute leisurely walk along the tree shaded path to the ruins. Stunning view over the water. Cost for a bus ride and tour $60 per person- we did not do that. Take own water, sunglasses and hats, and bathing suit with a towel to swim at the ruins. It was really fun to be on vacation and we enjoyed every minute and every experience. We of course did see the military police with their machine guns- happy they are on patrol. They did walk down Half Moon Bay one morning. Easy Way Car rental picked us we drove over to their site to do the paper work, all went smooth, we loved how whatever amount of gas is in the car just return it with that much, about 1/4 tank. Car did have ac and automatic as we had reserved. Can't wait to stay in Akumal again - maybe longer next year?!
