Playa Blanca, a wonderfully popular three-story condominium is located near the center of beautiful Half Moon Bay. Enjoy your own private balcony or patio to do some turtle watching here in season. Lucky guests can stroll on the quiet beach each morning with a cup of coffee to take in the splendor of the spectacular sunrises. All units have air conditioning in the bedrooms and DSL internet. Some have TV for DVD or VCR, so request these when reserving. The roof top deck offers a marvelous view. Just steps from the door is some fantastic snorkeling in the Bay and time can be easily passed while resting on the covered terraces by watching the pelicans dive for meals or taking a siesta in a hammock.

All the units have Caribbean facing living areas, with fantastic views, no matter what level the condo is on. Each unit is privately owned, so it has it's own personality and style. Unique to most other condominiums, Playa Blanca has a tile bathtub in the master bath, offering a ocean view from the tub/shower! The spacious master bedroom has a large louvered window, which can open up to have a view out to the sea, or be closed for privacy. The second bedrooms enjoy garden views and their own Mexican tiled bathroom with a walk in shower. Enjoy preparing meals in the full kitchen or dine out at many of the fabulous restaurants, which are with-in walking distance of this property. Maid service is 6 times a week and there is a small convenience store nearby. Beach towels, if not provided by the owner, can be checked out at the management office. And, for your peace of mind, Playa Blanca has a security guard.

In Spanish, Playa Blanca means "white beach", which is exactly what awaits you on Half Moon Bay in Akumal, Mexico. Each of the one or two bedroom/bathroom condos have a spectacular view of Half Moon Bay and the Caribbean. The white sandy beach and crystal clear water are just steps away.
The living and dining areas are separated by and eating bar, from the open kitchen which has a refrigerator, gas stove, microwave oven, and several small appliances. The master suite includes a king size bed, and a large tub with a shower. The second bedroom, with it's own entrance and bath (and two or three beds) can be added to make a two bedroom unit. The master bedroom has folding doors that can open wide to add to the wonderful airflow and view.

Watch for turtles swimming in the Bay from your patio! A four-minute walk to the north will take you to Yalku Lagoon, for some of the finest snorkeling on the coast. A ten-minute walk to the south will put you in the heart of quaint Akumal Bay.

Enjoy other nearby activities; scuba diving, sport fishing, wind surfing, horseback riding, restaurants, shopping, cultural shows, or just leisurely days on the beach.

Playa Blanca 3: You must check out what the new owner is doing at this fantastic 2 bedroom beach level unit! Updates include a flat screen satellite TV and a cell phone with free minutes. Playa Blanca 3 is a ground floor unit located on the south side of the building. The kitchen is completely equipped for your convenience and maid service is provided daily. This charming unit features a king in the master bedroom and two doubles in the second bedroom, each with brand new mattresses. In the bedrooms and the living areas, you can enjoy the Caribbean breezes circulated by ceiling fans or, if you prefer, you can cool down with air conditioning. No need to leave modern conveniences behind ~ this unit has high speed wireless internet and a stereo system with MP3 inputs. The living room and the master bedroon have satellite TVs with DVD players and the second bedroom has TV/DVD and a small refrigerator. Or, relax on your hammock with a novel from the extensive library. Whatever you choose, you'll have the vacation of a lifetime here at Playa Blanca 3! With a small security deposit, you can rent a cellphone to use during your vacation to use with the complimentary phone card worth 100 pesos!

Playa Blanca 4: Second floor unit, on the north side of the building, with a king in the master and a tub in the ensuite bathroom. The double and twin bed in the second bedroom have a garden view and a/c. There is both air conditioning and fans in both bedrooms. No TV here, but there is a CD/tape player and wireless internet for the guests' enjoyment. This unit offers some extras such as a hammock, beach towels and has a safe.

Playa Blanca 6: This is a second floor unit, on the south side of the building, with a king in the master and a double plus a twin bunk bed in the second bedroom, making it great for families, as this is an unusual set-up to have 4 beds in a 2 bedroom condo (with a small fold up to make 5 beds which can sleep up to 7). The king and double mattresses are pillow-tops. There is air conditioning with fans in the living area and also TV/cable/DVD movies, books, and two CD players. This unit offers nice amenities such as wireless Internet, a safe, beach towels, a hammock, and a fold up bed for a child in the master bedroom. The bedrooms also have a/c and fans, and the back bedroom has its own television and ensuite bathroom.

The Playa Blanca Casitas (#9 and #10) are just right for guests looking for an economical and comfortable way to enjoy the best of Half Moon Bay. The casitas are situated in a two level structure just down the garden path. Each unit in the Casita has lots of windows making them sunny and affording a cooling breeze. Unique to Playa Blanca, both feature partial ocean views of the beach and turqouise sea beyond. These air-conditioned casitas have kitchen areas with a full size refrigerator, toaster oven, coffee maker,  a hot plate, microwave and juicer. There are ceiling fans in each unit, and nice cross breezes. They both offer wifi for your own computer.  There is a child's cot available by request, and guests have access to the rooftop terrace on the main building. These centrally located units are perfect for the budget minded traveler!

We have visited Akumal many times, this is the first time we have stayed in Playa Blanca. We all loved Playa Blanca! The beach was just an extension of the condo. It was great to be able to walk right out the door and snorkel in Half Moon Bay. We read, napped and ate on the beach, relaxing either in the sun or shade. Playa Blanca #3 is light, bright and airy. Folding doors from the master bedroom open out to the living area and to the beach, such a beautiful and relaxing view. The kids had their own space at the back of the condo, so we all had plenty of room. The staff was friendly and helpful. I have to admit, everyone used the wireless internet some, it was nice to be able to stay in touch with those back home. We even watched the TVs one night - and it helped us learn Spanish with the subtitles - educational TV!
