favorite Akumal properties, and our
guests! La Bahia is a beautiful condominium, perfectly located in the
center of
the nicest part of the sandy beach on the famous Half Moon Bay. Each
unit
features a private
balcony with stunning views. Bedrooms offer both spectacular beach and
jungle
views, unique to most other condos on the bay. Enjoy the refreshing
cross
breeze from any room or enjoy the bedroom A/C. Soak up the sun from the
elevated
private beach courtyard and the shade of a palapa on the white sand
beach. Find
fabulous snorkeling in the Bay right outside your door and just up the
road in
the aquarium-like Yal Ku Lagoon! La Bahia is one of the most popular condominiums that Caribbean Fantasy represents. These beachfront condos offer a unobstructed views of beautiful Half Moon Bay, and the pristine clear aqua marine water below. At La Bahia, the units can be rented as a 2BR or 1BR condo. The master suite, furnished with a king size bed, is separated from the living area with a bi-fold wooden door, which when left open, allows the free flow of the fresh Caribbean air, and a fabulous view of the Bay. Each morning you are awakened by natures alarm clock; the melodious singing of tropical birds out the jungle side window, and the soft lapping waves along the beach. Nothing may be more rewarding than sipping a cup of coffee while watching the sunrise from the spacious decks. Both bedrooms are served by private tiled bathrooms with open showers. The beachfront second bedroom has either twins, a double or a king bed, depending on the unit. The completely furnished full kitchen includes bottled water, pans, dishes, table accessories, a bar with stools and a dining table. Upgrades to the units are unique, as each is privately owned. Daily maid service allows you to be on your way to enjoy all the local beauty both above and below the water, while the unit is cleaned up, beds made, and dishes washed! While relaxing on the built in bodegas in the living room, you will find it difficult to concentrate on anything but the 180 degree view which greets each day. Finally the balcony allows the morning rays in relative privacy, or use the hammock for a siesta. Join friends new and old in the beachfront courtyard for a BBQ, or arrange to have a local come in and prepare a wonderful Mayan meal. La Bahia in located in Akumal, which is in the Yucatan's Rivera Maya, on the Caribbean Coastline. It is just a short hour drive from the Cancun airport, but light years away from the crowds and fast pace of the city. Area bays are world renown for diving and snorkeling, as written up by many publications. The barrier reef along this coast, which protects Half Moon Bay, is rated as one of the seven underwater wonders of the world. From Half Moon Bay, the water is often so clear that sealife, such as turtles, can be seen from the building without even entering the water. Within walking distance of the condos is the famous Yalku Lagoon, which is often equated to swimming in an aquarium. Also, there are many wonderful small resturants tucked around the Bay for your convenience. The common phrase here is 'No shoes required!' The Akumal area is both rustic and somewhat remote, with thatched roofed restaurants, lounges, dive shops, gift shops, coffee bars, and more. The arts are a focus as well, both local and international. The area offers a doctor, pharmacy, markets, library, ecological center, arts center, outdoor stage, police station, laundry, kids center and more. Come stay in paradise! La Bahia is one of our favorite properties to rent. The floor plans are open, the views spectacular, the Half Moon Bay location one of the best and La Bahia has an American caretaker on site. Each unit at La Bahia is privately owned and unique, filled with things that make a stay warm and comfortable, making the traveler at home. La Bahia #1Central air conditioning in this 2 bedroom unit is a nice addition to the ceiling fans and cross breezes from the Caribbean. Walk-on walk-off beach level makes it perfect for families with children. The master bedroom has a king bed and the second bedroom offers 2 non-movable twin beds. Its Mexican decor is enhanced by a flowering hibiscus hedge and palm trees, which add shade to the beachfront patio and create privacy. The kitchen offers many amenities such as new appliances. Custom wood cabinetry throughout offers copious storage, as well as privacy for the master bedroom. New patio furniture is perfect for alfresco dining. Similar to all the units, an extra wide built in sofa can accommodate an extra person in this newly redecorated, color coordinated unit. Beach towels are provided at this unit, and it has a safe. La Bahia #4 This 2-bedroom unit has the ambiance of Chapultepec, providing elegance and serenity in an eclectic decor displaying the historical and cultural differences of Mexico. On the second floor, Unit #4 is lightly larger than the upper units and offers breathtaking views of the beach, Half Moon Bay and the Caribbean sea beyond from the 3 windowed walls in the living room, while providing additional security of an upper level. The newly installed A/C provides a choice to satisfy your temperature needs. Both bedrooms offer the sights and sounds of the ocean and jungle. The master bedroom has warm earth-tone colors and the ambiance of conquistador Spanish Mexico, with luxurious king size bedding and high thread-count sheets, a European tapestry, filigree mirror and closet safe. The second bedroom is decorated in the Mexican style, with Mola embroideries and iron headboards for the twin beds. Both baths have hair dryers. The living room, with its breath-taking 270° vistas, is decorated in the Caribbean Yucatan style, with tropical print fabrics, (replica) Maya artifacts, a radio-CD player, a flat screen TV along with a selection of DVD's for your viewing pleasure. The kitchen, with its hand-created tile, is fully stocked with all amenities. Swing in the terrace hammock or play cards out under the stars on the new patio set. There is a safe. This unit provides a romantic and tranquil sojourn from your normal life and the memories created here will provide enchanting memories that will endure until your next visit. La Bahia #5 Situated on the 3rd floor, Unit #5 has a dramatic view of Half Moon Bay to the east and the lush jungle to the west. Decorated with the rich colors of a Mexican fiesta, it will feel like home away from home. As in all the units at La Bahia, the kitchen offers plenty of amenities; oven/range, barware, flatware, cooking utensils etc., as well as a large refrigerator, making it perfect for entertaining new found friends, or having a Mayan meal prepared by a local. Wide louvered doors to the master bedroom, which has a king bed, can be opened up to create a bright and airy feeling and allow for views & breeze throughout (or closed for privacy). The 2nd bedroom has it's own entrance and can be locked from either direction, creating a large 1 bedroom condo, or an inexpensive hotel room. (This is the same for all units on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd floors of La Bahia.) The 2 twin beds in the second bedroom of #5 can also be moved together to create a king bed instead. In 2007, all beds in this unit were fitted with new mattresses! Both bedrooms have their own bathrooms. A/C, books, games, a hammock, a safe and patio set offer added relaxation to this comfortable and beautiful unit. La Bahia #7 This 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom unit is on the fourth floor. Its views are so dramatic they will take your breath away. The new unique jungle side balcony is large and has an entrance from both bedrooms. (It is the only La Bahia unit with a balcony on the ocean and jungle sides.) The master offers a built in wall cabinetry and windows on 3 sides. All rooms offer ceiling fans and a/c to aid the cool Caribbean breeze. The master in this condo has a queen bed and the 2nd bedroom has a double bed, with a shared bathroom dividing the two bedrooms. There is a safe in this unit. La Bahia #8 On the 4th floor with one other condo (#7), this smaller one bedroom studio condo offers spectacular views and a sun filled stay. The ceiling fans and a/c will enhance the Caribbean breeze and tropical decor. The open bedroom has a queen bed. This is a perfect vacation choice for one or two people as it is private and intimate, with views which will help to make everlasting memories. Please note that internet is not available in this unit. This studio condo is much simpler than others in the building; so it has the bonus of being priced much lower for the traveler who is looking for no frills, but desires a well managed condo in a wonderful location, on a popular beach, with a spectacular view. It has just been updated, and now offers TV and a safe as well. |
