Amazing property and location away from the the big resorts. It is walking distance to bars, restaurants and a corner store. My family was very comfortable and happy with our accommodations. The view and proximity to pool, ocean and beach can not be beat! Loved it!

Casa Zama (6BR Full Villa)

5 Stars 5 Stars 5 Stars 5 Stars 5 Stars

We have rented Villas in Akumal 5 times and Casa Zama is the best having the prime location over the others. The staff was very attentive, accommodations excellent and the views quite colorful and relaxing. One unfortunate downside is the pool; it's not heated and in March was far too cold to enjoy - by enjoy, I mean even get into. (other villas have been similar in March because none of them are heated, which is unfortunate). Anyway, all the restaurants are worth recommending with the exception of La Buena Vida, which is very close to Casa Zama. The food is marginal at best and the drinks are watered down; service is questionable. This review comes after 3 visits on separate trips, never again. All in all Casa Zama is an outstanding retreat so much so that we've reserved it again in 2018. We've heard the Owner is considering having the pool heated so that would make this better than ever!

Mi Casa Del Mar B7

Paradise in Akumal The unit we stayed in (B7), was everything we could have hoped for and more. From the moment we walked thru the breezeway and got a glimpse of the pool and then the Caribbean Sea, we knew we had made the right choice. The unit was very well kept and had the tropical feel that we were looking for. It was relaxing, peaceful and had all the amenities you need in a vacation spot. It is a great location to venture out to Tulum, local cenotes, and Playa. If you don't want to venture far ... stroll down to La Buena Vida for great service, drinks, and food ... or into Akumal for the same or some beach time.

Yal Ku Cai 3

5 Stars 5 Stars 5 Stars 5 Stars 5 Stars

We really liked the Yal Ku Cai, altho it was rather windy. #3 has a great view, the staff was very good. The pool was great for the 9 yr old and another little girl Snacks at the Yal Ku lagoon were good Dinner at Que Onda was so-so Dinner at La Lunita was a great final evening. Had a neighborhood potluck with the barracuda we had gotten fishing Swam at Cristalino.. good for the 9 year old Snorkeled at LabnaHa. just us and the guide, very fun for their first cavern Went to the ruins at Coba... busloads off the cruise ships. The Club Med restaurant just closed The Akumal beach is a madhouse mid day, parking is annoying Xpu Ha restaurant will be open for dinner, again after 2 decades The Xpu Ha beach charges admission, but would be good for a day on the sand The whole coast has changed vastly, but back around the Yal Ku it was still tranquil I didn't convince the family to try the Yal Ku lagoon until the last afternoon..Next time they'll go there more. I suspect there will be a next time,
